I’ve been banned twice in the past due to this same exact situation. A co-worker and I were using the same IP address and we both got banned due to being suspected alters. Admin told me they “have ways” of determining if someone is using an alter or not and that it goes beyond IP address. That is obviously bullshite because neither me nor my coworker were alters.
Now, have I used alters in the past? Admin knows the answer to that and they know damn well I haven’t logged into any of them (they’re all banned anyway
) in years. Just me now and has been that way for years.

IPs are assigned to a device, not an individual router.
Wrong as others have said. Router's IP is what the web sees unless they have some DMZ or some shite setup. If you were speaking to MAC addresses, that would be different and that is unique to device (technically I suppose the actual adapter of the device).

But what if OP and his husband are both posting from a laptop or desktop?
Seriously though, my wife has an account and being banned if she ever starts using it is a fear of mine due to the same IP address showing up.

If you and a coworker share a computer (or if all your computers are configured the same) then that could throw up a flag. They could also cross-check your respective login times (have you ever seen them in the same room?), but that could also be due to you and your coworker being on different shifts.

Anyway, there are actually more ways than just IP address.

Well yea that must be what got us then. If the admins are looking at that then that’s kinda shitty because they can’t expect co-workers on the same network with everything set up the same way to not use TD.

Yeah. Deserve all the downvotes. I deal typically with closed networks and not the internet.

hit Alt+F4 to go into incognito mode, that should fix it.
