Everyone wants a label that makes them unique. This introvert bullshite is almost as bad as the non binary cis gender reindeer identifiers.
Everyone has times when they want to socialize and times when they want to be alone. Hell, Guns n Roses even have a song about it.

The Intoversion-Extarvesion continuum is one of the "Big 5 Personality Traits" and supported by tons of research. Most fall in the middle as you described, but those closer to either end are real personality traits.

I was, sort of, obsessive over personality information for a bit this year.
I thought I was an ambivert, but the more I read, I realized the only times I am really talkative and crazy, is when I'm with people I'm already comfortable with.
Which is like 6 people......lol.
