Please, please prepare for grid down situations.

Can food, have water stored, have medical gear and ability to filter/treat water as well as know your neigbors.

There are crazy parallels with the book.. In particular the Asheville water situation and what's happening in chimney Rock.

Or just have plenty of guns and ammo

If you dont have that then having all that other stuff just makes you a target

Not really, government is rushing in and the surrounding areas are pouring in help, supplies, and resources to restore power, get people out, and rebuild eventually. We aren’t trying to kill them and take what they have left.

A lot of people don’t even have their homes, they got to keep their homes and didn’t have their lives wiped away by a storm.

In the book, the preppers, Rambo types were the first against the wall.

Gotta have friends when shite hits the fan.

Gotta question for you... Answer carefully

Why, when Mother Nature's shite hits the fan in an urban center... Say like Nola, the ppl turn on one another and looting is widespread etc. But when it hits in 'rural areas', eg, Boone, that doesn't happen.

I can't put finger on the difference...

It’s sad to see what’s happened up there. I was in Asheville in mid August and before I left, drove up to Black Mountain and Montreat College to see the area. I’ve read the One Second After series and always wanted to visit. I’m glad I got to see it before all of this.

According to the books, small ammo like .22 cal became the most valuable commodity and was used like currency
