I'm moving to New Orleans and needed to set up TV/ internet. Since I don't watch much TV (other than sports), my plan was just to get internet. I have Apple TV as well as a subscription to Netflix. I called Cox to set up internet which they marketed on internet as $34.99/ month but was told that its closer to $80/ month and for only $100/ month they would bundle TV and internet. Of course, I got talked into that option. What are the OT's recommendations? Is there a better option for internet?

We do Cox for internet, DirecTV for cable.
Cox is awful for us.

I'll never understand the hate for cox.
They've been awesome to us and far better than dish or Comcast.
Are they still offering a credit to join them right now? Last I saw they were giving $100-200 credit cards.. I really love the cox internet speeds. They do pay off better to bundle.. Even with the phone that you don't need it's cheaper than if you just get internet and cable..
I'm with you though, I don't care for cable much.. Watch all my entertainment via wifi internet
