People will hate on this post. Isn't the American dream to be financially independent and help your family for future generations? Ive never understood people who hate on other people who receive financial help from parents or grandparents who've worked their arse off to provide for current and future generations. Especially those who have created successful businesses and let their children take them over. I come from a middle class family and have always been happy for my friends who have family that help them financially through school, buying their first home, making sure their kids don't have to worry about money, etc...

Sorry, I don't live to provide for anyone but me. In my adult life, all I expect to count on is myself. Call it selfish, or not a closeknit fam but expecting funding to come from outside sources...no thanks (not to mention the probable guilt trip from those ties)
