Also, terminology may have played a part here. You say cancel instead of remove.
Plenty of people will say “cancel” and if the agent asks to clarify to be sure you don’t mean “remove” vehicles, the client gets defensive and tells the agent it’s not their business and they want it cancelled and this situation happens. Ultimately they should ask for signed cancellation before cancelling a policy and most carriers require it but not all require it to be sent in.
It’s totally possible they messed up but lack of common terminology and unwillingness to answer follow up questions from an agent can create this situation very easily.
Also, I’ve come to realize that in any industry you can find incompetent people. Be careful Who you work with.

Aren’t you the same guy that stormed into a police station to demand everyone stop what they were doing to write your up your little report or something

You sound like a miserable client. Most agents could get the carrier to fix it if it was truly an agent error.
The advice was to call so there’s a recording of it. I went in person. So if the guy lies and I had gotten in a wreck? That’s why corporate said to call or record it yourself.
I know they are gonna fix it, but I gotta take time out of my day to make sure and OMV is gonna flag my license and gotta make sure they fix it.

I calmly went to the station and requested to file a report. Nice embellishment on your part.

Find an independent agency and get out of State Farm. They can more than likely save you money and headache on most stuff you have including auto, umbrella and classic car (Hagerty). Depending on location, you may have issue with moving the home if you’re with State Farm but there are some A rated options in the state if you’re not on the coast.

Ahhh yes, the old “we frick up but don’t get mad at us!” loser mentality.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Found the problem.
You need to switch insurance companies and stop playing musical chairs with a bunch of shitty agents working for a shitty insurance company.

The first one was independent. State Farm actually was about the same.

The first one was independent. I went to a State Farm to see and they were about the same. I had to get the umbrella from someone else. State Farm doesn’t write those anymore to new clients.

If someone has fired their CPA, I’m glad to help them
If someone has fired two CPAs, I have a lot of questions
If someone has fired three CPAs, I would never have them as a client

They got tons of State Farm agents. Another one just up the road
Oddly enough, I have State Farm as well and they have never let my policy lapse in over 30 years of coverage…so it is not something intrinsic to their system. It is bound to be simply carelessness on the part of their staff. My new insurance card comes in the mail basically 3 weeks to the day before my premium is due.

I could be wrong, but I would be surprised is every call to every local SF agent is recorded. I would think email is a more reliable record.

They aren’t. Only calls to corporate lines are recorded. Claims, after hours support etc.
Calls to agent offices aren’t recorded

Well from now on I will follow up with an email.
There is actually a part 2 that will be posted but I want to get some other information this morning before I do.

A few years ago, I got in a wreck. Guy that hit me was uninsured so I filed with my own insurance. Turns out that my agent improperly applied the payment so I had no insurance.
I ended up getting the forced insurance and got my car covered along with GAP.
