He had really funny articles after Katrina that everyone in the area could relate to.
It crazy how well he was able to capture everyone's feelings and experiences after Katrina with those articles.
Yeah, I used to look forward to reading his columns in the paper version of the Times-Picayune. It was a simple pleasure.
It's sad about him being estranged from his kids. I wonder how happy one can be not having any contact with their kids?

Tough reading
Was a great book. When I was living out of state I loaned my copy out to probably a dozen people over the years and everyone who read was moved. I heard Rose had been having difficulty but didn’t realize it was that bad.

I've lived on the other side of a marriage with a substance abuser. She lost everything and is probably still in denial that she has a problem. Her daughters want nothing to do with her and from my experience that's typical.
Since Chris has cleaned up his act (to a degree) I hope he and his children can work out some sort of contact.

I think Chris was a great writer and I also think history/hindsight will be kind to his work.
But its a hard truth: great writer = tortured soul.

Many guys (myself included) are struggling with any number of things from depression to anxiety or dealing with wives who are nothing more than roommates at this point and see their husband's as the only things keeping from being happy on a daily basis because that's what social media tells them to believe.
Me and you both brother.
