If we have a space race between the private sector SpaceX and NASA, that would be fricking amazing

i find it interesting that the 2036 mission is already crewed

NASA: "Hi there, we have determined that you will be the perfect person to pilot our Mars Mission in 18 years. Are you in?"

17 year old kid: "Hell yea man!"

I agree. The best thing to happen to US space exploration was the private sector. NASA buys too many $800 hammers.

"Crewed" in this context means: "Are humans flying on the rocket, or just cargo?".

Not that the crew has been selected.

Why the 3+ year gap between their last success and next planned mission? All very cool in theory, but I wonder how much will ever happen.

Thanks for adding to my raging boner I've had all day.

I'll never understand how people don't get excited over this stuff.

We are entering a new golden age of space exploration! Time to stretch our legs and leave Earth orbit. It's been almost 50 years!
