Immigration agent fires gun during 'targeted enforcement action' in Metairie

An immigration official fired a gun Monday morning in Metairie during a "targeted enforcement action," an ICE spokesman said. No one was injured.
Immigration officials were looking for someone at an apartment in the 2200 block of Giuffrias Avenue (map) when the officer fired a weapon, according to ICE spokesman Bryan D. Cox. He described the officer as an ICE New Orleans Enforcement and Removal Operations deportation officer.
Cox said the agents were looking for a specific person and were not raiding random apartments. He didn't say why they were looking for the person. It wasn't immediately clear if ICE found the person they were looking for Monday morning.
