News flash: "Encouraging" and "requiring" are not the same thing.

Literally in the thread title

Thread title says ‘OP to voluntarily shut himself in’?

Reading comprehension isn’t your friend.

When I want to go to a national park, and it’s closed, that’s my fault?

It’s my fault there are few live sporting events to attend?

It’s my fault tailgating was shut down at LSU?

I didn’t sign up for any of this. Apparently, you did because you have blind faith in the government to handle your own well being.

Hey Louisiana, we aren’t “requiring” you to raise your drinking age, we encourage you to do so, as if you don’t you won’t receive funding for x, y, z.

Remember, we aren’t forcing you. This is your decision to make.

You've got to be retarded

Did you miss the part about the bully pulpit?

The president, no matter who that person is, does not have the constitutional authority to issue a nationwide shutdown. Trump knows this. Joe knows this. Hopefully every 8th grader in your class knows this.

You are a teacher. It is scary sad you don't know this.

Ahh yes, another personal attack thrown in for good measure.

You are blind if you think constitutional authority matters. The constitution has been amended several times. The Patriot Act was a controversial movement that left many citizens feeling violated. Why in the hell do you think something new cannot be pushed through Congress in these ‘unprecedented’ times?

Yes, please spend the rest of your weekend explaining it to me.

You can't teach people who do not have the capacity to learn.

We have now identified our fundamental disagreement. I believe constitutional authority matters. You apparently don't.

This guy has spewed the same garbage for several pages. He’s allowing the government to dictate his life, and trying to spin it as though he can do what he pleases. It’s an odd circular argument he has started with himself. It’s been mildly entertaining.

No, you believe constitutional authority will be followed by the letter by elected officials. This makes you one of the many sheep.

He's terrified to be wrong so he keeps trying to shift the narrative.

At least he admitted Biden lied repeatedly about his concerns.

Actually I've been wrong and acknowledged it in this very thread. Welcome to the real world.

Would you tell your students they are "blind if they think constitutional authority matters"?

You are absolutely terrible with comprehension.

1. I’m a music teacher

2. I’ve said you are blind if you think the constitution matters to the people in charge. I’d love to believe that the letter of the law will be followed by all parties, but history shows us that people in power manipulate things to get what they want, even the constitution.

A few months ago, this board was ready to hang in effigy every teacher in America. Now they are blindly upvoting a "music teacher" who is bailing on an entire year.

You must have major self-esteem issues. I’ll empathize with you, as mental health issues have been a battle for me as well.

I am who I am. I don’t need a fake tough guy persona on here. I’m a middle class American who works hard, tries to educate today’s youth, inner-city and suburban schools alike.

You might be surprised what a music teaching and coaching gig can get you in Texas. But I’m sure you already know the ins and outs of what I do better than even myself.
