I make fun of NOLA a lot, but this mayor is full on banana republic dictator. She and her staff break the law and violate city rules over and over again. She doesn’t deny it, and when she gets caught, there are no consequences for her actions.
I don’t know all the ins and outs of NOLA city govt. but I know these things off hand:
You’ve got a mayor who continually breaks the law.
You’ve got a councilman who has spent time in the federal pen for bribery.
You’ve got a DA that miraculously beat tax fraud charges last year.
Honestly, how the frick can people live there?

It amazes me how little she gives a frick, and his literally nothing ever happens to hold her accountable for anything. And nothing ever will IMO.

I’m naive? How so? I’ve been hearing about her being busted for years now and nothing has happened yet. What’s the point of “waiting for her to commit more crimes” if they already have more than enough malfeasance to trounce her? Because meanwhile the city she’s in charge of heads further down the shitter, no?
Don’t get me wrong, I hope she gets what she deserves. But what in the world should lead me to believe that she will?
