This thread is fricking amazing. Even if it's a massive troll job and the OP never gives an update. He gets an upvote for all the jimmies that have been rustled.

I've learned that you should marry out of misery and not happiness. Ten years is way too long to be in a relationship and then break it off. You should be paying your own bills at age 15. Women must be preggers by age 22. I still haven't figured out wtf Peter Pan syndrome is.

Lazy people come in all forms. I agree there are lots of entitled brats, but hell, some of the laziest people I work with aren't exactly people raised with $$$ and coddling parents. It happens.

You are definitely right. Not every single person still in school or living at home is worthless. Just a lot of them are

What do you do for a living? How worthless are you right now for being on this thread all day spewing hate?

And yes I've been lurking time to time on this thread waiting for the update. Yes I'm being worthless as well at work currently.

That's always baffled me. I keep seeing jobs posted for like a receptionist or something low skill, dead end like that. $12/hr bachelor's required. Why would someone incur thousands in debt to get a degree to make that in a dead end job?

Oh it's unreal. fricking unreal.

My position had a fancy title. But let me tell you.. I'm a secretary. Fancy title or not. I might get to do something I studied once a month, MAYBE, but no. I'm an assistant.

And, of course, my parents pretty much forced me to come to this interview and accept this job because of how hard it is for college grads to find jobs.

And I have bills that don't stop just because I graduate. So I had no choice.

Another thing I don't get. The silly job titles. Why can't a secretary be a secretary? A janitor is even a "facilities manager." So dumb.

Too many people with college degrees compared to the amount of jobs that really need them

Pretty soon you'll need a degree to be a "debris collection facilitator. "

Yep.

All of my experience (internships, past jobs, etc.) is in marketing/PR. Do you know how many bullshite entry jobs are advertised as marketing?

ALL OF THEM.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those. But even businesses that I wouldn't think need a "marketing manager" are hiring for those. One of my son's therapy clinics is like that. They are busting at the seams and looking for a marketing person.

I can hire college degree straight out of school all day for $12 an hour
I'm making a little more than that right now, and I'm still in school. That would really suck.

Tried. Jones wants me here He comes home on the weekends, so my only option to be with him would be to live in Galveson.. and .. no.

Problem is all of these people want someone magical. They want to hire someone who has years of experience and portfolios and branding success.. but then they wanna pay pennies.

Marketing, for many people, is a luxury. So they don't see the need to pay someone much. Yet they still expect someone who is going to come in and just blow the place up with amazing success.

Your best bet in the marketing field is honestly getting on with an advertising firm.

To me, that is just stupid. He should have set down rules though

Well to be fair he kinda did. I switched from business to Engineering and basically lost a year, so he said he'd pay for 1 year.

Then I lost TOPS, and he told me tough shite.

He still paid for the 1 year he said he would, but the rest was on me to figure out.
