Haven’t had a claim, ticket, wreck in over 15 years. I have auto, homeowners, commercial etc with them. Their rates are getting out of control.

Looking to change. Any recs?
TIA

You can thank Louisiana, not State Farm.

Geico is great. I have used them for many years with no issues. I am sure people have problems with any carrier but Geico from me has been a great option.

The company is going downhill fast due to a new CEO a few years ago. This week they are officially closing their last La claims office

Probably not going to help most members on here, but AARP offers homeowner's and auto insurance through The Hartford and their rates are by far the cheapest I've encountered in years.

I saved over $3K between my homeowners and auto going with them over my previous insurers. I had Liberty Mutual for homeowners and Progressive for auto.

The only caveat is you have to be at least 50 to become an AARP member IIRC.

It’s more about your state and less about the company baw. You’ll find that almost all insurance providers have increased their premiums by the same amounts.

State Farm has been wonderful for me and my old folks for years.

Find a good independent agent in your area and don't keep one company too long. That's the best way to keep competitive rates.

This cannot be overstated. Ed Rust was amazing and knew how to run a leading insurance company but the new guy has no clue. The incompetence is trickling down to the new agencies as well. Just about anyone can become a State Farm agent nowadays and that's scary. The agency business model within the insurance industry, in my opinion, is a scam that customers pay for. It's outdated and really no need for an agent as long as you have half a brain.

Is anyone in your family former military? USAA has great pricing and the service is outstanding.

They are all crooked. Charged a fortune to give you piece of mind, then when you need them they don’t pay.

Try to become self insured after paying off mortgage.

Can blame the trial attorneys and the jury threshold.... at 50k here, next closest is 15k if that doesn’t tell you who runs this state.

It’s a double edged sword.... if you are constantly switching you build up no time with a company, but can save a little money. shite hits the fan and you get stuff taken care of if you stick with a good reputable company. You bounce around looking for rates and shite hits the fan you get dropped.... good luck getting reputable coverage until said shite falls off your record.

I work for Allstate and we have been beating State Farm a lot since they have taken several rate increases.
