There wasn't much on Siegen in the 80s. Bluebonnet either other than Jimmy Swaggarts place.
Worked on Industriplex Blvd back when Siegen Was only 2 lanes and you could get a #3 at McDonald’s for $3.23. Was a nice area to work. Used to be a decent little restaurant off Exchequer we’d hit for breakfast and lunch.
But I’ve seen the lines of people at that clinic on a Saturday morning. Didn’t know that’s what it is. What a horrible place for that.

What did you do?
15 yrs old talking shite to some older dudes in the McDonalds parking lot. They chased us from McDonalds to that construction site and beat on us a little bit. They went to jail b/c they were all over 18+ and obviously beat our asses.
Was funny watching them get arrested while we piled back in a minivan all muddy and bruised.
It Turned out to be some Belaire alumni looking for trouble in a different part of town. They typically hung out at that Mugsy's Pool Hall across town. Found this out a few years later when a girlfriend's roommate was dating one of them. We had laughs and beers about it.
Anyhoots.

We lived in Central when I was growing up but my mom lived off of Siegen starting around 1989 or so. It was a quiet little area. It's busy af now. That's pretty ballsy to try and whack someone in the middle of the day.

I’m pretty amazed they didn’t find the shooter stuck in deadlocked Siegen lunchtime traffic. You couldn’t pick a worse time to shoot someone right there

No doubt. This happened at night but about 150 feet away back in 2006.
Arrest Made in Siegen Lane Olive Garden Robbery/Murder.
quote:
Aaron Arnold was shot and killed outside the Olive Garden on Siegen Lane while helping a co-worker who had run out of gas. According to the co-worker, two black males demanded money from them. Both of the victims began to comply with the demands of the suspects when they were shot. The co-worker survived the gunshot.

Omg Best comment ever
If only it were true. People who know the area, or are looking to commit crimes, would use this path to get off of Siegen in a hurry.
All they had to do was have the car parked on Honore Ln, 300 feet away. They could disappear into Industriplex and be on Airline HWY/Stumberg within 2 minutes.

shite the burning car is one street over from me. No wonder they are searching so hard.

Yeah, seems like I remember that one. That was random violence. This seems pretty targeted. Somebody had some beef with an IHOP worker it sounds like.

About 5-6 times per year I have to go into work at midnight. I usually stop at Whataburger since it's one of a few places that's open and it's on my way to the office. I usually have my head on a swivel in that parking lot that late though.
