Saw a Pawn Stars on in the background. Had two mint Pullman cars decked out wanted $1M for both.
Was wondering if one could afford it, can you just pay UP or CN to haul you around?
Yes. I saw a thing about John Paul DeJoria, cofounder of Paul Mitchell, he has a fear of flying and owns a pullman that he travels in. It's not hooked up to freight trains though, it's going to be connected to something like Amtrak most of the time.
Here's a video showing his car. LINK

there's actually a scheduled train, not Amtrak, but a nice, well rated rr that does this
You are thinking of the American Orient Express. Unfortunately they were bought, changed name to GrandLuxe and subsequently went out of business in 2008.
This stinks because I saw a show about the route from Denver to Salt Lake City which uses a route through the Rockies only accessible by rail. In some places the river going through the gorge is so rough, even kayakers aren't allowed on the river.
If I were to compile a bucket list, going through the Rockies on the American Orient Express would have been on the list.

So if you have two pullman cars and you are the second to last, do you have to let the people in the last car through your car to get to the bar car?
In most instances, there is no between car connection between the private cars and the Amtrak cars (other than those for power).
