Last cruise I went on we met a guy who did this. He said he’d wait around til the last minute, then book cruises for a very good rate so he basically lived on the ships. Didn’t have to worry about utilities, all meals included, maid service/room service, sailing around to beautiful destinations... he made a good argument.

Being stuck on a cruise ship for more than a week would suck. You're saying live there for a month or even permanently...
Paying 3500+ a month for something that sucks does not equal doing really well.
