Leg. Not even debatable. We really have no idea how dependent we are on the arms until we lose one or both.

It depends. Are we talking about the whole keg or just below the knee? If its just below the knee then I would say lose a leg, but if we're talking about losing the whole leg then I would rather lose my left arm

True. I had a buddy who lost a leg from knee down and you could hardly tell. I knew another who lost the whole leg and that was a different story.

Leg. But it would be tough to say no to a hook hand.

How could anybody say arm. You use your arms for everything.
You would live a much more normal life with a fake leg than that of a fake arm.

That's true the more I think about it. I just like the ability to run. Now I am not sure which I would choose.

Left arm. It's pretty useless anyway. A leg could seriously affect my ability to get around by myself. Independence is important.

Eta: after reading some responses I think I changed my mind. Prosthetic legs are pretty good. It would pretty much be just a limp.

10 years ago I would have said arm, without a second thought.

Now, with the advancements I've seen with leg prosthetics, I would say leg and not think twice. I would have to try one of those curve prosthetics.

Hell, people are competeting in the the freaking Olympics now with leg prosthetics.

Too bad they didn't have all this technology back in the mid 1860's.

ETA. OK, I just saw the post about having a hook hand. That's a game changer. But I'm still going with leg.

BTW: I have 1 kidney, lung, and enough of a liver to transplant to sell....I mean uh donate for all medical costs and and any other donations for my trouble.

I mean hands are more important, but I can't give up my legs. They're my best attribute. Everything I do involves them!
