I moved away, and I'm moving back. I like the South. Food is better, weather is warmer, people are friendlier and more interesting, and it's near my family.
If you're young, single, and adventurous, I do recommend getting out for awhile, though. It's fun living fast and loose in an area where you don't know anyone.

San Fran bay area. Cool city and you're 3 hours from skiing and national parks. Plus the coast is right there. The climate is not hot or really cold.
