I'd love to have a beer and a cigar with Winston Churchill

Robin Olds or Claire Chennault, as far as pilots go. Yeager is probably a top 3 most accomplished pilot of all time, but also a known tool.

Politically, Reagan or Churchill.

That he was. “Fighter Pilot” is probably my favorite book. Should be required reading for ALL military officers. I don’t know if he was a better pilot or leader. That’s awesome you got to meet him

Yeager’s books aren’t bad, but everyone I’ve ever met that has interacted with him said what you just said basically. Again not taking anything away from the man accomplishment wise.

tough call, a true leader of men, guys that I knew from the 433rd would go to hell and back for him, and his skills as an aviator.... well..., a true national treasure, imo

ETA: they(433rd guys,) all chuckle and smirk when someone makes a comment like "too bad he couldn't have gotten that 5th kill in VN"

Isn’t Olds the reason y’all have mustache march in the Air Force?

My grandfather to answer the OP’s question. The only person I consider to be a hero in my book.

I’d bet the house he got more than 5. Probably the best example of the man’s grit and character.

As far as mustache March is concerned, he’s the only inspiration I’ve ever heard for it.

got rotated back to the Pentagon and ran into a higher ranking officer(maybe his boss?) right away, guy told him to lose it, and that was the end of that

My grandfather. He loved Jax beer. But he died when I was ten so I never had a chance to drink a few with him.

Judas.

I’d like, WTF dude? Really?
Why did you think the money was worth it?

Anyways, without him, Christianity happens totallly different. No crosses to bear.
