I know it sounds like a good idea. What could possibly be wrong with stacking the deck for your kids? They would be smarter, taller, stronger and faster, be assured of no diseases, and perfect health.

There are always 2nd and 3rd level effects that you cannot account for.

What are some of the disadvantages that genetically altering your children would create?

I'd enjoy them not having debilitating diseases.

I don't know, but if everyone on the planet eventually ended up genetically engineered then that could cause a problem. If everyone could all do the same shite then there would not be any identity and everyone would be like robots.

I’m sure your parents wish they would have engineered you better.

Back to a genetic based class system similar to the Red Rising series. Would assume the wealthy get to be genetically superior and then trickle down to lowest (poorest class and weakest genetically).

Why not?

Nah, they would’ve been much happier with an abortion.

I would take away any genetic trait that predisposes them to disease. But as far as physical attributes? No.

I pretty much did.

Wife and I both played college sports and she’s tall to make up for my lack thereof. Kid hit the genetic jackpot.

But what if everyone else is upgrading physical attributes? You'll be damning them.

Well he’s not black so he’s gonna have to go the “real gym rat” and “first guy in last guy out” route

The technology for this already exists, and it's called CRISPR.

I would simply be thrilled with one lil ginger grand-girl.

I have no biological grands yet but I have about TEN step grandsons and only one girl. She is a beauty (and a kid so no pics) but not a ginger.

You can already do that to a certain extent if you do IVF.

There would be no short men. When women seek sperm donations they ask for height as the most important trait (aside from health), ahead of intelligence.
