If, like a thief in the night, ISIS attacked a town only a few miles from you

[here in the United States] and brutally cut off the heads of a long line of men and children, how would you react as an American?
Would you form a local posse and plan a counter-attack?
Would you pack up key belongings and flee from your home with your family to get them as far away as possible?
Or would you encourage your family to leave while you remain behind to fight for your property and freedom?

I would pray to Allah that if they took you out, it would all be worth it.

I would immediately apologize to ISIS for the Christian Crusades that occurred 1,000 years ago then get NASA to help me develop a local Muslim outreach program.

First instinct is to do this, but I also think they would attack multiple locations.

My wife and kids go and stay with her brother on his property in Mississippi and I stay back and unlock the gun safe. All of these years of stock piling ammunition will finally come in handy.

My parents are convinced that something like this whether it's some kind of martial law or us being invaded will happen in our lifetime and we have a "plan" to rendezvous and what not. My step dad is a former Texas Ranger and U.S. Marshall and he's been stockpiling for awhile now in a bit of land bought down in south Texas in the middle of fricking nowhere. We don't live in the same cities now, but they're both highly populated areas and there's a plan in place for us to meet.
I've also been getting survival supplies for Christmas for like the past five years.
I think they're nuts but you never know I guess.

Would one of the dead be an obnoxious Gump?
Would it be the day after a last-minute LSU meltdown?
These things matter.
I would seriously relish the opportunity to stand with my fellow Americans against an existential threat. Besides the fact that I'd probably get killed on the first day, it sounds like fun.
I will say that bravery is correlated to age. I was a lot braver thirty years ago, practically a bad-arse. Now I have kids and a bad back. I might have to do it part-time.

Take the kids out of state, leave the wife and the guns to fight the invaders.
Actually I should probably take the guns to defend the kids. Wife can figure it out.

I would be cool if they do like in that Denzel Washington movie, with Annette Benning.

What if ISIS said that the next town would be your town and anyone remaining in that town would be put to death in the most gruesome possible way? And, they would be at the city limits in 12 hours?

I'm pretty sure any local populace in the South has the weaponry and the willingness to go to war with those goat frickerz.
