I keep my heater on 70. Snow would kill me. Why anyone would live in that is beyond me.

As many have said, it depends on where in the state you live. That makes a big difference.

I don't know much about Ohio other than the fact that I hear Cincinnati is on the rise and underrated as a city.

But having to pick between those two options, I don't see why Louisiana wouldn't beat out Ohio in terms of quality of life.

The people who live in Louisiana and bash us, live in urban areas. The secret to true happiness in this state is to live in a rural area or suburb. Buy a house on the river and you'll be one happy person. Even our uptight people are happier than people from Ohio. The people, the food, the fishing, the festivals, the sports and our passion for all of it, will make you happy for a lifetime! However - if you're a liberal you're doomed to be miserable no matter where you live!

I moved to small-town Ohio for 4 1/2 years and moved back.

It was a great experience in some ways, but I thought I'd starve to death up there.

A beautiful woman is fairly rare there.

And, of course, the harsh winter.

Let's just start with today....
While you're working, we will be parting all day! Throughout the state, from CEOs thru college students, we'll be having drinks and watching girls flash their tits.

Why? May I offer a few reasons?

Better food
Warmer climate
Never dull
New Orleans and all South Louisiana
Great fishing (salt and fresh)
Mardi Gras, Jazzfest, Sugar Bowl, etc.
Better music
More diverse
LSU
Cajuns & Creoles
The Mississippi River

They bash the state because of the people in the rural area. I grew up in a relatively rural/suburb area. Also lived in BR, and spent extensive time in very rural areas at hunting camps etc.. you've got ghetto in "urban" areas. But some of the ship I've seen in the sticks up in rednec-ville and down the bayou is ultimately what makes LA seem shitty. A lot of Louisiana looks like a 3rd world country. I know that's rural area everywhere, but Louisiana just happens to be majority rural. If you consider Mandeville rural, I can maybe see where you are going, but outside of a few okay towns, most rural is horrible in Louisiana.

Now that I live in TX, it's the same thing. Outside of the highly populated areas, it's a shite show. Difference is there are a lot more populated areas.

Very low property taxes. Low income taxes. Crawfish , Mardi Gras, longer deer season , fresh and saltwater fishing, strawberry festival, cheapest university tuition in the country, 3 hr drive to the best best beaches in the country , Nachitoches christmas lights. Votes republican most of the time

Or you could move to New Iberia and get yourself the right haircut and blend right on in baw.

Regardless, for livability, Louisiana > Ohio

Grew up in LA, have since moved away. I lived in OH for a few years, and I have spent lots of time on business in multiple OH cities.

Your only measurable change would be the sunshine. OH overcast can be pretty gloomy.

Unless you are affected by Lake Erie's water quality

For the uninformed on this topic, OH is generally pretty nice. Cleveland is even OK. The inner city is as rough as advertised, but the surrounding area is surprisingly nice.

And saltwater fishing in LA ONLY counts if you have the means to enjoy it. But it is fantastic.
