My 14 year old who is 6 feet tall just asked if I also wanted a sandwich because he is making one.

Which is more important?

Yeah, nope.

But, I agree, you have to more that if it's a longterm deal.
You can't not have that compatibility, though

So these thoughts are all hypotheticals. Or casual observations.

The sweet spot is a woman over 35, better in 40s, hell Ive seen great looking women in their 50s, out of long term marriage, done having kids, and already had the "mommy makeover" plastic surgery.

I mean 35 year old women today don't look like 35 year old women did when i was a teen.
I dated a 26 year old last year and the age gap was too much. Your different at 40 then a 25 year old. I would take the 35 year old. Women are fertile to 45 these days commonly even later in many cases. I think 30s are the sweet spot. 20s are more fun especially if you can keep up. But there generation and ours are just si different.

Have you talked to a 25 year old?

I don’t think I could put up with that longer than a few hours.

As if there's any difference talking to a 35 yo woman.

There’s another thread, so I hold out hope on that one.

I’ve never understood this height thing. That has never once been a factor for me when dating.

There are two things behind this, Aspy - there is a bit of research on the subject going back some and then there is all the "dating" (hook up, mainly Tinder) app data.

The crux of the argument is that men are on the hookup sites for sex and women are chasing hypergamy. If you look at men and women and assume that both men and women are distributed on the "quality" scales of 1 to 10 generally on a bell curve, that in an ideal marketplace, 1s will end up with 1s, and 10s will end up with 10s, with some room for deviation due to preference, fads/fashions, opportunities to meet, etc.

Now, there is evidence that men are generally fair in assessing women (on looks) whom they do not know or are not familiar with. In other words, Joe Blow looks at 10 photos and fairly rates them within the margin of error. Women are only fair to men whom they are familiar with. Particularly on dating sites, but generally. At least the 6s/7s and below. From a superficial, "Do women want to date you based on looks?" 6s/7s and below are essentially invisible. There is a whole set of TikTokers who push the "6ft/6-pack/6-figure income" as the floor filter. That eliminates well over 90% of all American men.

I can recommend a YT channel hoe_math who explains all of this in great detail. The channel is entertaining, but many women are going to feel insulted. I don't 100% agree with him, but as far as folks on dating sites, his analysis is unassailable. We just saw that report about ole boy who swiped right - 1 MILLION times. He matched 3 times.

Oh. I’ve never been on a dating site, so maybe that’s why I don’t care

Right - this is "hookup culture" trying to bleed into real life. Unfortunately, for the younger folks out there, they've more or less merged into a single thing.

Bizarre. One of the advantages of being already too old for all that when that revolution began.

I don't know. 20 year olds will send you novel length texts about the importance of Juice World's music on the culture. They don't like the outdoors as much as older women. The biggest plus is younger women often seem to be really into sports. So they want to go to football/ baseball games. But everyone is different. To be fair i only dated one Gen Z er. I mostly date millenials. I feel Gen X are too old. I go for 30-40. That's my preference. But yeah often 20 something looks better, younger. But having less in common is a big deal. When i was younger i only cared about looks, arse and tits. Now those are still important. But who they are and how i feel with them matter more. And in that case i find women who grew up in the 90s/00s have more in common with me 80s/90s.

Leonardo DiCaprio can have pretty much any woman. Yet he doesn’t date women his own age. He proves my point. You guys with limited options are just mad about your own inadequacies.

You don’t date any women so I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make

I'm 31 and have no interest in talking to a 25 year old woman. Give me 35 all day.

6 years might not be a huge gap, but these Gen Z kids were practically raised by social media. As a younger millennial, I feel a generational gap already.
