There's a "podcast" on Spotify called "Art Bell tape vault" that is essentially an Art Bell "best of". It has hours and hours of Coast to Coast, Dark Matter and Midnight in the Desert episodes.

I listen to it almost every night when I'm falling asleep.

That's it. It really wasn't a bad radio and came in handy a couple of times.

Download the Playapod podcast player and search “the ultimate Art Bell podcast feed” and there is over 1300 episodes of Coast to coast am and Art’s other show Dreamland dating back to early 90s. The Art bell tape vault is good, but doesn’t have but about 350 episodes.

but those damn flute music commercials drove me mad

OMG Art had the best bumper music. I honestly think is was Coast to Coast that made me even realize that bumper music existed. I think prior to discovering Art Bell in the early 90's my mind must have just tuned it out or something.

his callers were fake

That's superfluous. His callers being fake, or crazy or whatever is what made the open lines such a hit. Art may have known a lot of the callers were full of it but his calling was making them feel comfortable and safe in sharing their stories. Hell most people understood those stories were not real but it was the best entertainment of the era.

They're on YouTube also. Several accounts posted 3 and 4 hour long shows. A couple of 10-12 hour best of compellation's. You can find Art on most podcast and social media platforms these days.

Art loved him some ABBA. One of a thousand reasons why he was so cool.

Dude personified theater of the mind.
