I'm already starting to consider moving out of the Gulf Coast myself. Too many hardships over recent years. Even Isaac did a number on us here and this board makes fun of that storm. Northshore still got hit with shite tons of water from that storm...just saying. That was the most water I ever saw until the 2 floods last year happened which put everything underwater at that point.

I'm spending another year, then moving to Portland anyways.
Until it's legalized in louisiana, and I'm free to grow what I do best.

I like it here without any of those disasters.
The hippies protest around city hall. I don't go by city hall when they do that.
It's nice.

The key to enjoying New Orleans is to think of it not as a poorly-run American city-- but as a really well-run Caribbbean city...
Ain't that the truth.

Fwiw living in Nola is always like living in a third world country due to crime and corruption
You haven't been to a third world country.
It's closer to post Soviet Bloc Eastern Europe. Or somewhere between Western Europe and that, but not third world.

I do not want to do this again.

Personally I think of NOLA as being 7/8ths America, 1/8th Guyana.

I'm from NO, now living in BR. I had a lot invested in what NO was. I have nothing invested in what the city is now.
I agree 100%. Ive lived in BR since coming up to LSU in '96. Even after I bought a house and had got married I still referred to NOLA as home. Last few years not so much.
All I keep saying is the rentals are insured so if it floods...Eff you pay me and I'm out completely!!

Andrew was 25 years ago.
And being in my twenties, like I said, I was old enough to remember it vividly.
