Lulz. Just yesterday, while he was standing right by it, I said...hey, it would be great if you could empty the dishwasher. His response? How do you open it?

I rolled my eyes and laughed but saw it as progress that he at least asked that and didnt walk away.

Yeah, if your guy is loading the dishwasher, albeit incorrectly, that's still something.

ETA: I know everyone's relationships are totally different. But I honestly don't think I could deal with having a husband who doesn't contribute equally around the house. Call me old fashioned.. Or not.

I load the dishwasher since my wife and kids seem incapable of taking a few seconds to put their dishes in after eating. I also do most of the laundry and cooking because I want it done right. sometimes it's just easier to do things yourself.

My wife got on me about how i was cutting the roast.

I said "fine, you cut it then"...

and that's how the downward spiral of otherwise great weekend with her family. they are a lot of fun..

she was stressed, I was having a good time...

stupid stuff should never hurt your marriage but I think it's deeper than this surface stuff...

It always comes back to me listening...many times I just never hear her or she wants to tell me something right in the middle of an email I am banging out to a client...that always annoys me..

She is hurt I did't hear her or make her the priority...

ah the simple can be so "emotionally" complicated

1. Not listening. (If I'm not looking at you while you're talking, then I'm not paying attention. So don't try to start a conversation while I'm in the middle of a show or game and expect me to pay attention.)

6. Not reading her mind (I'm a man. I don't "read into shite". You want something, tell me. You want me to do something, tell me. You want to "punish" me for something, at least fricking tell me why.)
