I met Ashley a few weeks ago at a Humane Society party.
We did shots. She's cute.

A $20 whore in 1880 would be $450 today. Just saying.

So you get every paycheck in cash, then mail payments for your CC and student loan? This seems incredibly dumb.

frick Chase. Good luck.

The tight pants won't do much for your cause.
The "look at my bulge" has been tried too many times with banks to be effective.

I also don't have any banking accounts other than one credit card which I maintain a small amount of debt on and make very small monthly payments for credit building purposes. I'm trying to pay off some student loans from school though so i immediately relinquish about 60% of each paycheck towards that debt with the hopes that I'll be able to knock it out faster than if I just made minimum payments- I just tend to spend more with a debit card, and I could get by spending a little more, but I know that I'm cutting my student loan repayment schedule down to like a quarter of the minimum payment schedule this way. It's not really a strong rationale for not having a checking account but it works best for me I believe and I really don't miss dealing with capital one at all- they pissed me off enough to make me think my current arrangement is worthwhile.
How do you pay your CC bill?

Did the camera guy tell you to walk around and pick up random things while he filmed you?

I just go into Capital One once a month and give them the minimum payment- which amounts to a very small amount- like less than a couple bucks. It's not even about what's most convenient for me, I just pulled all my money and closed my account when CapOne started penalizing me everday I dropped below something like $300. I could pay off the rest of my CC this morning with the cash in my pocket and it would be like $15 and I'd be done with that awful bank, but I figure there's no downside to nursing my credit score. But I'll certainly never open another checking account with them.
I'm not fundamentally opposed to banking accounts, just Capital One. Apparently I should steer clear of Chase as well.

Well you can imagine if we did.

Serious question here, what would happen if you stopped paying your mortgage? Would they take the money they have and apply it? I mean, would they foreclose on you? I wouldn't think they'd want to foreclose on a half finished flood property as it would cost them a ton of money. Maybe it's time you play hard ball, why give them money if they aren't going to give you yours'?

As funny as it sounds I think they would just foreclose. I have never dealt with a more smug group of people in my life. Funny thing is half the people I talk to at Chase say that I am correct and the state sure as hell says I am.

So what happens to the money? That would be a legal mess for them. I'd seriously consider not paying a month, and put that on Facebook. Why pay them when they are holding onto your money?
For what it's worth, I don't have an issue with their guidelines being more strict than state law. If they have it written somewhere I don't have an issue, if they are just making law as they go that's different.

And put a nice dent on his credit for the next 18 months...

I talked to an attorney who said state law supercedes company policy. He said this should really be rather easily seen by Chase as a no win situation.
