Don't thank me. Thank all of my fellow Louisianians that kept people like John Breaux and Russell Long in Congress all those years. Those guys never got one of my votes. I was too busy going to see all those cool bands in concert.

We'll sure, now that the greatest generation is mostly dead. Boomers suck.

I was born in 81...wasnt aware I was Gen x. I don't know about any of that tech shite though. I don't even really know what a torrent is. I do think I relate way more to gen x though as my parents were both born in early 40s like those born 10-15 years earlier than me.

I'd say 81 is Y.

I was born in 85, but consider myself a Generation Xer. My little brother is 5 years younger than me and is the poster child for Generation Y. It's like you can almost see the generation line.

Well, you're not.

There has to be some kind of term because having been born in 85, I can remember life with no internet.

Gen Y can remember a life without internet. It's Generation Z that can't. You're really getting the generations confused.

So, who the hell is Generation Y?

It's debatable, but I personally think that Generation Y is a very short one, with it being kids born between 1980 and 1991.

I agree. Gen X is the most well rounded.

the generation that had facebook and smartphoes (the dividing line isn't really the internet) come of age in high school or early college is a good way to describe it

and yes, it is a short window and we bridge 2 generations pre/post facebook and smart phones

if you were in high school or undergrad during 2005-2007, you're in that generation

Boy, your lack of success is no one's fault but your own. If you didn't spend all your time crying on the Internet about what a raw deal your ancestors left you, and instead got off your arse and set about making something of yourself , you wouldn't be so goddamn miserable.

Hard work is probably beneath him.

I just looked up gen. y age range and some say early 80s to early 2000s and others say it ends in the early 90s. I was born in 1993 so I could go either way.

Millennials, or the Millennial Generation,[1] also known as Generation Y, are the demographic cohortfollowing Generation X. There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends. Commentators use beginning birth years from the early 1980s to the early 2000s.

I don't care if that's what they say. Someone born in 1987 is going to have almost nothing in common than someone who is born in 2001 10-15 years from now. No way these two are part of the same generation.
