he certainly has the history that proves it can be effective, but I just don't know if I would want to make that my plan A. It's always my plan B or C

I think thats key. If I do it, I either want to have trained that way, or basically done no training at all.

When do you make your FP+ for your January trip?
Posted on 10/20/14 at 10:36 am to LSUfan4444
Good point.
My goal is always just to finish. I'm not really built for long distance running, but my wife loves it so it's something I got into to help stay in shape and join in in her hobby. But if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right and be healthy. So I train seriously and try to make sure I can make a whole race without needing to walk.

Sorry, I know
I almost posted about it the other morning because all of the tiering requirements were gone for a few hours last week. I was able to get test Track and Soarin and Toy Story and Beauty & The Beast etc. on the same day

Pump the brakes there big guy. Great to hear you're enjoying yourself and getting in better shape, but you've got a loooooooong way to go if you're doing 3 hour half marathons.
70.3, not 140.6. I corrected my OP, I'm not crazy.

Start out with an easy race. The Big Easy Sprint is a great starter tri, it runs alongside a 5150 olympic distance race, so the event is pretty nice and you'll get to see a few pros do their thing.
Displaced suggested this, I've never heard of a sprint. I looked it up an I think it would be doable and an awesome way to start.

There are alot of Sprints all year long. Races like Crawfishman, Iron Horse, Sunfish (Meredian, MS) are all great races.

A bit on the slow side, but congrats nonetheless. I've done a few halfs but I always have knee problems after. I've gotten away from support shoes and I seem to be doing better. Last Thursday I did 11 miles with bridges and tunnels at an 8:00 pace so I'm going to enter another half this year.
