I'm sure the players kneeling will have a positive and lasting effect on society and the black community at large.
Nah, I'm just kidding. It's another pointless gesture like Michele Obama's hashtag campaign.

Paying respects to the men & women who sacrificed for us to be able to play and enjoy these activities in peace is outdated?

The men and women who sacrificed for our political freedom to protest and express ourselves any way we see fit. Does kneeling during a song hurt anybody?

That is not disrespectful to dead soldiers. Nobody is out there saying "frick the military" or saying anything about the military at all. Jesus, people are dense. Just eat up the propaganda and stay in your lane like a good boy

Trump lacks any type of filter that most politicians have.

His statement about this nonsense comes more from being a business owner and a former pro football franchise owner than being POTUS.

I did not vote for Trump. His opinion on all of this doesn't influence my opinion one bit.

I'm choosing not to watch. When enough people stop watching, sponsors will do the same.

The bottom line is - no one is getting fired

This may temporarily hurt ratings but people will start watching football again. players sitting for the anthem is a new reality that fans will have to accept.

I'm not watching NFL games

But its not because of a protest

It's because the NFL is a terrible, terrible product

The fact that the president is commenting on the NFL at all is just ridiculous.
Add in the timing with North Korea on the verge of firing nukes at us, and the divisive racial nature of what is happening in the NFL... It just shows what a petty, small, idiot that Trump is.

In the same speech in Huntsville that Trump made those first NFL comments he also showed his ego and more of his arse by claiming he was the one who gave Luther Strange (another POS) his nickname "Big Luther" when anybody with access to google can disprove that in 5 seconds flat.
Who the frick does stuff like that? Most people who are compulsive liars grow out of it after they get called out the first time at 15 years old.

The fact that he still has any supporters left is more mind blowing than the fact he ever got elected or became a serious candidate at all. But people just continue to eat his BS up. It really speaks volumes to lack of intelligence in the world today.

And the crazy thing to me is that his supporters are mostly conservative Christians. The Christians especially should be the first people reject a human as terrible and self inflating as Donald Trump.

The sad thing is that we would have been just as fricked with the alternative as we are now. Its just sad.

It's funny when it started under Obama no one blamed him but now it is Trumps fault - it's pretty simple - US Code

Well said. I like how this got anchored..free speech, opposing opinions and all.

The best part to me is the owners who are backing the players and essentially giving trump the finger too.

Hopefully it escalates all year...The orange moron will strike back with his hurt feelings soon on twitter.

It's anchored because this isn't the poli board.

And FTR, this isn't a public forum. You don't truly have "free" speach. You have to follow board guidelines.

One more thing, congrats to Bowl Jackson. Now he qualifies as the shittiest poster on 2 boards.

I am all for free speech but those guys are on the clock. How would a protest that angers your customers go over at your job?

Incorrect, they are there for my entertainment. I/we are the consumer. Without ad revenues, ticket sales, etc. they'd be kneeling at home....because, for the most part, their only discernible talent is to play with balls.

Idk why youre posting that like just because somebody doesnt like Trump they have to be an Obama supporter. Democrats and Republicans/ conservatives and liberals are the only things that exist? Theres only two ends of the spectrum?

But besides that, the mouth breathers miss the point AGAIN. The president can comment on sports. The president is allowed to think about things that arent in his job description. But you really cant see the difference between spending a night having fun with sports and bonding with your citizens is different from spending days going on dumbass tirades turning sports into politics, being divisive, and all around making an arse out of yourself?

No, they would still be playing. NFL used to be a part time job back in its early days. The salaries were very low but people still played.

There will always be an audience

So like these people protesting the anthem because Michael Brown and Alton Sterling got shot? Or maybe like ESPN has done?
