How could I forget this one. Every time we play this in our house it's a riot.

If you get into it, look into the 1910 expansion.

You should check out Say Anything. It's similar, although it adds a creative element to it in that players come up with their own fun answers as opposed to prescribed answers in A2A. The only drawback with Say Anything is that it's limited to 8 players, so if played with a larger group, A2A allows for this if you didn't want to divide into small teams.

Other than those already mentioned, 7 Wonders and Splendor are the two that hit the table the most lately.
For bigger groups, you can't go wrong with The Resistance or One Night Ultimate Werewolf.

Settlers of Catan is OK for a while... until you begin to realize that luck of the dice plays far too important a role in the game. Ticket to Ride is superior.
My wife and I and our circle of friends play lots of board games.
Our favorites, aside from Ticket to Ride and all its expansions, are:
Caylus plays a bit longer than the other four, but all five are really quite clever in mechanics and have multiple paths to victory. Agricola is especially tense... all five give you a tense but compelling sense of not having quite enough time or moves to do everything you wish to do, and high player interaction.
They're probably all a bit heavy for younger children, though. For the younger set, I recommend Ticket to Ride, of course, easy enough for adolescents to play but fun enough for everybody.... and Zooloretto, which employs Coloretto's mechanics. Zooloretto can be much more complex and devious than it looks.

Darn, meeple... you play the types of stuff OUR crowd loves.
Jaipur is the tits!
If you like No Thanks you'd probably like For Sale, as well. The wife and I carry our Lost Cities deck into restaurants and play on their tables while waiting for our food.

Because it's a lot more personal and requires more creativity, I find Say Anything to be a lot more fun than Apples to Apples and its bastard offspring, Cards Against Humanity.
If you like Say Anything you'll also like Wise And Otherwise.

Wasn't it you that came up with that TTR Louisiana map? Have you had a chance to play it much? Is it pretty balanced?

We bought it because it was on discount but have never played it. We did a YouTube tutorial and it didn't seem overly complicated... just a bit long to our liking. We stick with games we can play within an hour and a half or so.
Most overrated game on Boardgamegeek.com is Twilight Struggle.... don't buy that tedious crap.

a lot longer than that. we normally split it into 2 nights. 5 turns each night

At the less complex level King of Tokyo, one night, TTR, Lords of Waterdeep, Tokaido, etc.
A little more complex Le Havre, Keyflower, Battlestar Galactica, Carson City, Tigris and Euphrates, etc. Depends on the group and the night.

I was hooked on Dominion for a while. It's a deck builder game That has some variability. I also played Pandemic a lot. It's interesting to have the game as the opponent, Instead of other players. I Just broke into a new game, Trains, where you build high speed rail in Osaka or Tokyo while having to account for existing buildings and infrastructure.
