Isn't that the expected response from taking the vaccine... So-so fever for a day or so then back to normal?

Sorry I should have clarified more. Yes, body is creating anti-bodies. She feels fine otherwise, just hot and run down. Should be all good by monday.

I know several doctors who are not taking it

If you really are an RN and are refusing this vaccine (not because of legit reasons that make you not a candidate for the vaccine) you are a complete idiot and a disgrace to the nursing profession imo.
Not a very fair statement to our RN colleagues! It is a trade off of risk versus benefit that everyone should make for themselves. The consent that we sign acknowledges that the long term risks of receiving this vaccine are unknown. As a “senior” RN with asthma and a high risk spouse, I will take it. If I were younger and as fit as I was in my 30s, I would not take it at this stage of it’s development. In that situation, I would rather take my chances as opposed to developing ALS, lupus, or some other auto immune disease in the future.

You are far more likely to develop an autoimmune disease from Covid...

You sound like a typical nurse, thinking you know more than you actually do

None of the data that I have read would indicate this - heart and lung disease, yes. But, like I said, this is not likely in young, fit, healthy people. What info have you researched that would indicate that Covid would trigger auto immune diseases? What is your background?

What an idiotic statement...
Generalize much?

I'm an RN at a hospital and was offered the vaccine by the hospital. Asked if it was mandatory and was told No. So I said "no thank you". Was I wrong? Is the Rona coming for me? Help me my brothers. I get a second chance next week.
I have not read any of the comments yet, but I just want to say this, which I am sure has been posted already.
You are a RN and you are coming to this board to ask whether or not you were wrong in not taking the vaccine?
I am sure there are a bunch of idiots who are going to tell you why you don't have to take it or why you shouldn't take it. But there is no reason to not take it and being an RN I would think you would want to take it, but hey.. Its your decision.
But are you making your decision based on what others will think of you if you get it? (your friends outside of work, family, etc?) If so, stop being a pussy. Don't ever make decisions based on what someone or others might think of you.

I am preparing to administer thousands of Moderna vaccines to the public beginning the first week of March.
IMPO, Pfizer’s product requiring -75° cold chain is prohibitive to offering to the general public. It will be phased out unless they can improve its stability.
I would consent to the vaccine that is available to me first, which will be Moderna in March.

Where could one find a list of ingredients used to make the shot? Would it be on some sort of a label?

Yeah I’m not sure what people aren’t getting. It probably makes sense for you but not healthy people in their 30s or younger.
New virus, rushed vaccine, first ever vaccine of its kind. Directly invading cells and producing “desired” proteins is a big deal that comes w risks.
The vaccine might turn out to be just fine in the long term also (very likely).
Young people rushing to get this should rethink even if in the healthcare profession. Most have made it this far w proper procedures and PPE. Give vaccine to those that need it now due based on coronavirus risk factors. Reduce cases and reassess after more time has passed.

It wasn’t a rushed vaccine, it’s what happens when the government gets out of its own way.
Also, most people would be fine without any vaccinations of any kind. We didn’t get to this point in human history without that being true. However, vaccines, the Covid-19 vacs included, are an exercise in the group above one’s self. High risk folks should get one, of course, but you or I taking one helps them too.
I think everyone should have the right to do whatever they’d like with respect to the vaccine, but the best reason you’re ever going to get for taking the vaccine is to help save grandma, and for many people, that’s enough.

Would you shut the frick up with your un-substantiated bullshite? Look I’m gonna get the vaccine too but to say it wasn’t rushed is ridiculous.
Vaccines are typically tested on animals for a long period prior to human trials. Once it’s safety and efficacy are verified does it move on to human phased trials. How long was this vaccine tested on animals compared to a typical vaccine? This has little to nothing to do with government interference btw.
Are you also saying that the CV19 vaccine wasn’t sped up by the use of adaptive trials? If so, you are once again wrong.
They also compressed testing phases to speed up the trials.
I’m all for the vaccine, but you sir, are full of shite.

I am a critical care RN. One of the first patients I had developed GBS from covid. There is research on post covid issues. 60 minutes had a segment on it, a hospital in NY created a unit specificaly for these peope...
