CNN
"Critics of the administration are quick to note that when Barack Obama took office, gasoline prices were $1.95 a gallon. But they neglect to note the U.S. economy was in a virtual depression. For purposes of comparison, when President George W. Bush took office in 2001, gasoline sold for an average of $1.55 a gallon. In the summer of 2008, his last year in office, prices exceeded $4.25. In reality, presidents have little to do with near-term fluctuations in gas prices."

Seeing people use gas prices to pat their political views on the back is hilarious. In fact just a few months ago some dumbass on my Facebook posted about gas was 1.50 when Obama took office and 3.50 now, and he can "keep the change!"

Well, people are stupid. All it takes for a rise is the Saudis to turn the spigot towards close about an 1/8 of a turn.

Not exactly, this situation is different than in 08. There were other factors that played into oil prices then that aren't factors this time around. They will hover around high 50s low 60s, but I don't see a huge surge in prices like in 08

If gas gets any cheaper, I'll just wave my truck running all night so I won't have to wait for it to warm up in the mornings.

frick that. Everyone else in the country as a whole benefits much more greatly when gas is cheap.

I'm not too worried. I have done all jobs from pre planning to sales and now going back to the field. All with the same company. I will have a spot at the table. That's why I have become as versatile as possible.

I have a buddy who does finance for one of the big oil companies. Says prices will be this low for at least the next two years.
