I tried to tell you two things:
1) White men were really, really angry. We felt like we had been taken for granted. And had our work and success hijacked, mocked, and put back in our face. You didn't believe me.
2) Hillary was too deeply flawed to get elected. You actually believed that in your heart. But you didn't want to admit it.
That's what happened. It wasn't about Trump.

I understood the anger. I just didn't want to believe that white-man anger was the only thing that mattered. But wow. That is the message, loud and clear. It's rattling, when you let yourself believe your country is moving in one direction, but, actually, it isn't.
I know she was flawed. But I hoped. For the symbolism. Because the message we just sent to our young people and the world scares me.

I spent a lot of time on the Politics Board last night. Trying to get it. I guess you're right. I just didn't get it.

My dad has friends who have ranches in the border area. It is very creepy at times - people cutting across private property, dead bodies, etc.
It is really very sad.

I read one of your comments yesterday. A poster said something like: we run this shite.... and you said something like: Not for long, you don't.
And I'm sure you were teasing to an extent. But that's the attitude that infuriates Trump supporters.
Because we DID build this shite. The greatest society and the greatest country the world has ever seen. And we aren't about to just hand it over to those who don't appreciate it.

It's just maddening. I want it to be true that men and women are equal. But we just aren't, and maybe we never will be. Because we had the two most flawed candidates in history--equally flawed maybe-- and we went with the man.
Like, to a woman? Who has devoted basically her entire life to public service?
Of course, I was just giving shite to whomever that guy was. Because the attitude that infuriates Hillary supporters is that the only group that matters is white men.

First of all, the only service Hillary has devoted her life to is the service of her ambitions and egos. So, don't get confused.
And, no. I doubt there's a Trump voter out there who would have a problem with a Margaret Thatcher to come along. She would win here in a landslide.
We don't have problems with women. That's in your head. We have problems with politicians who give away our hard earned equity, and swap it for votes. That's what we're sick of. They don't even say Thank You. They just laugh as they walk away. It's infuriating.

Had it been any accomplished woman who shouldn't literally be in prison rotting, Trump loses.
Hillary deserves to be in a firing line for her acts more than she does on a stage giving a concession speech.

I don't think she and Trump differ that much there. But you have to admit that she has spent time more time than him devoting those maybe-selfish/ego-driven impulses outward toward other people.
There would be a problem with Margaret Thatcher. Read the boards. Read the language. Pretend you're a woman and see how some of those comments resonate.
All politicians pander for votes. I guess there's Trump's victory model, since it is true that Trump did not really do this. To his credit, he said what he thought. And people rewarded him for it. Will he still do that? It will be interesting to see.
I'm not in any way disagreeing that the political system right now is flawed in ways that are destructive. Do you think people thought about that, the return-on-vote, the walk-away-laughing thing, when they were voting for congressmen and senators? It seems like those guys are immune to all of the electoral emotion. Not that I have congress or senate to vote for, or anything.
Here's my rainy-day Trump worry for right now. What if the teenage boys I am surrounded by have just learned that it doesn't matter who you marginalize if you are saying what you think?

Oy. The prison thing.
That seems like an excuse from where I sit. No one wants to admit that the fact that she's a woman--an unlikable woman-- is the biggest problem. So, we invent a corrupt FBI and law enforcement system. Maybe they are corrupt, but it seems unlikely. It's just easier to castigate her for a character flaw than a gender flaw.

I think saying what you think is a huge step towards equality and intellectual integrity. Until men don't have to worry about what they say, how can we ever be on equal terms? That is one of the great seeds of resentment.

I don't entirely disagree with that.
But women need to be able to say what they think, too. And be heard in the same ways men are. And we clearly aren't there yet.

Then keep working. But don't blame men for your lack of an audience. It just makes you look weak.

Ahh. The condescension. That's great.

I've always said we should stick to better topics
You're the one who said: Explain to me what happened....like you had no idea. So. That's what happened.

I want to live in a world where the person who is most right wins. When it doesn't matter what gender, color, or sexual orientation you are. Where if you know what you're doing, you get to do it.
But do the angry white men want that, too?

Then why did you start every political discussion about how great it would be to have a woman as president?

You two need to take this shite to the poli board. This thread is about the skull the op found and stuff related to it. How about moving along.
