are you implying that 100k free cash flow is not enough for a year? You can buy a 350k house more than comfortably with that and still have plenty left over to save
Does 350k really buy much in Nola for a family of 5 anymore? You are under 100k after private school tuition only. That doesn't even take into account mortgage, vehicles, insurance, food, medical bills etc.

You're a Yankee so no one cares what you think, even if you say it in a high-pitched, screechy whine.

I don’t read his posts that way. I read them as his saying that $200k in New Orleans with 3 kids would be a lower standard of living than he wants for himself and his family.
I appreciate you understanding what I’m trying to get across. In a round about way it’s actually meant to be a compliment to New Orleans, not an insult.
The good neighborhoods and schools are more expensive in New Orleans than the other three. And three kids is a lot. Kids aren’t cheap.

Why did you put just one Texas city in the list?

Live in mandeville. Work in new orleans

That doesn't mean $200k income can't provide a good lifestyle though. If we were talking San Fransisco, sure you have a point.

$200k buys a lot more house in Alex.. Look at house prices in each city to see what you can get. Laf is only 90 minutes away, and BR is 2 hours.
The private schools are decent in Alex, but not as good as BR or Nola.

Cause it’s not an option or cause you’re an idiot?[/quote]
No, it's bigger than that. You are obviously emotionally attached to one of those 2 cities, which makes you the biggest idiot of all.
