After Katrina, the biz I was part of was given a lot of work through FEMA/Fluor Construction and thankfully we knew how to get paid.
We needed labor though and lots of it. I'd drive through some Baton Rouge neighborhoods and if I'd see a house with a lot of vehicles and someone outside and I'd stop ask if anyone needed work. I found a lot of incredibly skilled hard workers, many that had worked on barges before they lost everything, and I mean everything. Sad & crazy times.

It has been a while, so I forget all of the details. Weren't the levees going to be beefed up, and money appropriated for beefing them up? Then Bush, the younger, siphoned the money off to send to Iraq, to look for WMD's that he knew didn't exist?
