will it be considered a hurricane or just wind damage in east baton rouge parish. yes i have a tree down and damages

Named storm. Insurance company set themselves up right for this. And it's gonna get worse.

i know east baton rouge is not in the disaster area yet according to fema

You don't have to be in the declared disaster area for a storm to do damage. That's for federal reimbursement.

ETA: 1/3 of storms don't even stay in the cone.

maybe not according to FEMA but East BR is definitely a disaster area

State farm is the only company that I know of with a defined "Hurricane Deductible"

Are you trying to say "hurricane deductible" vs "named storm" deductible? Because I know my policy has a named storm deductible and it ain't State Farm.

State of LA was under a hurricane/ tropical storm watch or warning. Think that is what triggers it.

It will be considered whichever one allows your insurance to pay less.

What? Practically every company in LA has either a Hurricane, Named Storm, or Wind/Hail deductible. I can't think of one who still uses a true All Perils deductible.
