I already told you. You might have missed it, in fairness. In this specific case I would have more than firmly told him to keep his arms behind his back and stop moving. The cop did not do that. . As someone pointed out he certainly could have told him he was under arrest before the cop entered the video. But he certainly gave no more commands after he entered the video and certainly not when the guy turned towards the person to speak to him and pulled his arm. I think anyone could see that the drunk dwarf was nonaggressive

What if he wasn't drunk, and he pulled his arm away trying to get away from the cuffs? You already hinted that we shouldn't worry about him because he was a wasted short guy
If you get so drunk that you don't know or understand how you should act during an arrest then law enforcement shouldn't cater to you and make exceptions so that you don't get hurt
But I wouldn't expect you to see it that way from the comfort of your sofa. Maybe you should get out and mix it up with these pieces of shite and you would see that there isn't any room for "firmly telling them" what to do.

I hate that today's political climate has politicized police behavior and turned cop worship into an encouraged platform for many conservatives, and cop hate encouraged on the other side of the spectrum.
Cops should be held accountable, period - good or bad. If you find that your political leanings are influencing your opinion on police behavior, you are in the wrong.
This officer went way further than necessary to apprehend a guy who was barely coherent enough to be standing in the first place. Absolutely unjustified, and he should be reprimanded and will be lucky if this doesn't bring a lawsuit against his department or city.

This is 100% horse shite, and about as anti-American as it gets. Law enforcement should do absolutely everything in their power and control to ensure they do not injure people who are not posing a physical threat. If you believe the guy in the video is posing any kind of physical threat, nobody here can help you.

Well said, Tusca...tuscaloo...Im sorry. The LSU in me wont let me type that shite here.

He'll be ok. Or not. Either way, I'll be fine.

Wow. I generally side with LEO's in most cases but this was excessive. That situation could have been handled better. The guys head hits the concrete and he is knocked out cold just for public intoxication? People saying this is justified would have a different opinion if it happened to them.

Glad to see that thug getting schooled.

Cop was justified... The fellow was beginning to resist. I don't know that he fully expected the guy's head to bounce off the ground like it did though.
What did he think was going to happen when he suddenly swept the legs of a guy whose arms he had pinned and was piss drunk?

Being drunk in public makes you a thug?
There are people drunk in public all over the state of Louisiana during Mardi Gras.

I can't stand idiot drunks anymore than the next guy, but that was 100% unnecessary. The kid (or whatever that thing is) had absolutely no chance to get away or do any harm. If the cop couldn't control him without crushing him like that, then he's a shitty cop.

Here's a thought. Don't get drunk in public and this doesn't happen. How about personal responsibility.

Surely you can't be serious.
So what if instead of smashing the guy on the ground, he would have choked him out? I mean, don't be drunk guy! Or better yet, what if he just pulled out his gun and blew his head off. He was drunk in public after all, his fault so anything that happens to him is deserved, right?
Posted on 8/30/17 at 1:33 pm to kywildcatfanone
So if cops start slamming students or fans to the ground for being publicly drunk while tailgating this season, you'd be okay with that?
Posted on 8/30/17 at 1:40 pm to LSUTANGERINE
Welp, good news is his head didn't have far to go to hit the ground.

Maybe an old fashioned Huntington arse whipping would sober them up.
