Skeletal remains found by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office on Caples Road Sunday have been identified as Kenneth Emory, age 52.

Evidence found at the scene helped deputies with the identification. A forensic investigation is also being conducted for additional confirmation.

OPSO advises foul play is not suspected in this case. The remains were found in a wooded area in the 2000 block of Caples.

Deputies said Emory disappeared from his home on Dec. 22, 2010.

According to The News-Star archives, he was last seen at his job at Graphic Packaging in West Monroe around midnight on Dec. 21, 2010.

Emory left work early, telling coworkers he was sick. At 7 a.m. on Dec. 22, his wife discovered his vehicle was at his home near Murray Circle. Emory's keys, wallet, money and medicine were still inside.

Murray Circle is near the 2000 block of Caples Road. Caples, Lapine Road, Winnfield Road and the area around West Ouachita High School were combed by volunteers during multiple searches over a three week period. K-9 officers and cadaver dogs were used during search efforts.

It’s like you don’t understand that news stories people want to read on here should be interesting, funny, or even relevant in some way

Doesn't sound like they did a good job of searching if he was found on Caples Rd.

Uncle Dave Thompson lived at Caples and Winnfield Road back in the 90’s. We had some kick arse parties at Uncle Dave’s crib back in the day.

I’m pretty sure you quit aging after you die.

Always amazes me that people can go missing in a relatively populated area and stay missing for so long.

Very sad to hear about this, but I am glad his family can finally start to get some closure.
