The Army wrote initially wrote a report that whitewashed the whole incident. No fault for any US serviceman, politically motivated resistance, had to do it to save lives.
The investigator and author of that report?
A young officer named Colin Powell.
You couldn’t make this up.

It's hard to see a difference at times. Both 19th century Americans and 20th century nazis viewed an entire race as less than human. That was the norm then, though. It doesn't make it right in any way.

You can't say anything about any bad that America has done without somebody saying "but look at what they were doing"...it doesn't matter what other people were doing. We should strive to be better than other people.
