It is either thaw or unthaw:

Oxford:

North American Melt or thaw: [with object]: the warm weather helped unthaw the rail lines
More example sentences
2 (as adjective unthawed) Still frozen; unmelted: it could not explain how future science might revive the unthawed dead

A frozen object is unthawed.

Unfreezing an object is unthawing it.

So unthaw has two seemingly contradictory meanings.
