It's not a trick question; it's a poorly worded question. For example, you're implying that it must be K%, but a percent can can be written a number of other ways (fraction, decimal, ratio), so without explicitly stating the notation, you're question is too vague to reject C.

No. Percent means a number multiplied by 100. That's the definition of percent. For example, 3% means .03 * 100, with .03 being the actual factor. You have to divide the percent by 100 to get the factor.

In other words, a test publisher would throw out that crappy question.

One would hope, but one would be frequently disappointed.

It's 280k

Simple way to look at it, is to plug in a random number for K. Let's say 10. So the commission would be 10%.

(2)14000 = 28000
10% of 28000 = 2800

280K = 280(10) = 2800

That is a shitty question, didn't know if k% meant k = 10 and then you have to divide by 100 or if K% meant 0.10. I would have got it wrong

At least in Alabama, you do know that both cars sold will be crimson in color.

Why yes it is lol.

Btw, this is an poorly worded question to begin with. You are left on your own to describe what the variable k is.

If you read the question literally, it says (k) percent. This to me, suggests that k is some numerical value. Someone used the number 10. This to me reads 10 percent.

However, if you read it as (k percent) then yes you would need 10/100 to make the question work.

So it's all in how you interpret what these frickers are asking. Because its very murky at best.

It's k percent, not just k. So right off the bat you lose two decimal places. Trick question.

Now it's k percent with an edit?
