I see my best friend more now that she has a 1-year-old (because she is getting divorced) than I did the entire time she was not a mother.

I get wanting to spend most of your weekends with your SO/kids, but how are some people literally never free? I have friends that will leave special occasions like birthdays or weddings because they have to be at the house when their SO walks in the door from work.
