you could always be that guy that for some reason uses both and finds ways to misalign the end statement from the if/while/for at the start of the block of code

Always fun when you have a solver with several nested loops and you can’t tell where one ends and another begins

I think it's one of those things that's easy to pick up the basics, but the ceiling in terms of skill level is sky high. My general impressions at least.

Very accurate. The gap from beginner to senior developer is very large.

That's a tough one that I still haven't figured out what to do with.

In R functions I do that, but not anything else. But that is probably because of the sources I used to learn it

Yeah that's when you go from worrying about correct syntax and functionality to processing speeds

Quick who can develop the pr0gram who runs the fastest ha

Fun fact: using real < > brackets in the above joke made it impossible for me to post this comment. Think I found a glitch in the matrix

Plus, 90% of the time those nasty nested loops could be replaced with a nice and simple reduce

Exactly. The stuff that causes me to drive all the way home and realize I never turned on the radio because I'm still thinking about it.

It's a hell of a lot more involved than just writing a script in one language. Especially if you do web applications. Unless you are in a big development environment and all you do is the code. Most of the time though you will be the one person to do it all from database to code to front end. Very stressful job imo.

Correct fortunately I collaborate with alot of other people in my position so it alleviates this a little bit...although I do not do web application stuff I know of others who do and it's stressful
