I haven't actually used it, but I'm hosting a seminar this week where I've required other people to use it just to see what it's capabilities are in a highly technical field. It could be interesting.

Ridiculous it's even being considered for anything except writing code.

What? LOL

Why is it ridiculous to use it to clean up composition?

Rarely. But try finding a job in this market and you'll see how many applications you need to submit

I would be tarred and feathered if I used an open AI for work.

Never, it’s not advanced enough to help with the type of commodity analysis I do. You can’t ask AI why soybeans are up 20 cents on the day… yet

There is an account some dude made where he uses AI to trade. He put $50K in it and gave it free reign. It was up a decent amount but I haven't checked on it in a while.

I deal with investment financial statements with some pretty insane NDAs, along with all the SEC and SOX rules.

I'm about to hit a slow couple weeks at the end of the year and I'm going to use it extensively, but not for work specifically, because I'm going to use it for website content, structure and things like that

terrible example as you use AI to do the thinking for you.

Do you let excel calculate formulas for you or do you use your brain to calculate each one yourself?

Just say you’re lazy and your brain doesn’t work.

i believe he was referring to writing papers or responses to clients. Not formulating excel formulas, which is awesome

Two things come to mind:

Work smarter, not harder

Bill Gates on lazy people: “I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.”

I use it for ideas when writing papers for school. Sometimes I get the writers block and it’s a good starting point. Never used it at work. Maybe I should start.

I use it all the time, and it will be my full time job starting in January. I know how to do most of the crap I get it to do (except draw), but it's pretty nice to get such a massive head start on things now. I've worked a normal amount of hours a week several weeks in a row for the first time in years because I can just do more things in the same amount of time now.

The last time I used excel was in high school when I was forced to. I am in the medical field and do a lot of my own drug calculations that I don’t ask AI for help on. So, I have a brain.

Cheating and plagiarizing is not “working smarter.”
