That hasn't ever happened for me. Maybe they know I'd give a shitty review if I didn't like something

My favorites are the:

"Got a speeding ticket on the way home from this place.
Also the bathroom wallpaper was terrible. Total dump. 1 star."

Ive heard they extort businesses to highlight good reviews or suppress bad reviews for money

Don't put too much stock in them. At one point it was good.

1. People are more likely to post a review for a bad visit rather than a good visit so it is a bit skewed
2. People think they are Shakespeare and exaggerate. One bad thing and they start looking to pile it on
3. We have a marketing company that can get rid of bad reviews and comments on these Yelp, FB, etc. If I want something removed it is a 2 minute phone call

I don't give much credence to Yelp Restaurant reviews. Too often, I'll read a review for a restaurant we've tried and been less than thrilled by the food, and I'll see five stars, worth driving three hours for, we eat there every week, and I'll just feel sorry for the writers.

Amazon reviews I follow and appreciate. Two or three times I've bought things I knew, from the reviews, might not be exactly what I needed. The reviewers were right and I ended up returning them.
One thing, though, we bought a bug zapper from Amazon, few reviewers, it died fast and when I went to write a review, Amazon wouldn't take reviews on it at all. They still are refusing to accept reviews. Any ideas on why?

Absolute ZERO!

If any, I put the most in open table reviews and I typically go read negative reviews instead of positive ones.
