Same on average. Some months are better, others are worse.

My biggest stress right now is the damn bureaucracy above me. It's terribly inefficient and takes everything I can to keep things to myself. But, this is a gravy job and I look forward to going to work

Some of the unionized guys who work under me make more than I do, doesn't bother me a bit

I like doing the work and honestly don't think that I'd like managing people and attending meetings all day long.

Managers don't make much more than senior level employees in my field anyway. I'll never be a CIO type. I definitely don't have the personality for it.

We don't do meetings. It's all very informal. We bring dogs to work, as long as the guys do what they are supposed to, we're good.

It sure is nice being able to just randomly buy shite and not feel guilty about it lol.

In the past 2 months, we've redone the entire bedroom and office. Now if only I didn't have to rewire all this shite before the woman lands at DFW

I've been in my field for almost 20 years now and I'm still not sure if I'm management material. I kind of like doing my job and being left alone otherwise.

I'm honestly shocked you haven't been pushed out.

Telecom if you are a 20-year vet you are either a Technical Manager or unemployed.

I work in IT. I'm just not sure I'd want to be a full time manager although that's certainly my career direction. Solutions Architect and Team Lead. Just not sure I'll ever want to stop doing the technical work.

Know a few buds at TMO (T-Mobile) by proxy because I am apart of the CST Team / (RF Validation) for Nokia, but I've heard stories that its either be a boss or get laid off (because of salary). I honestly enjoy the lab environment but my personality pushes me to lead. Every job I have ever had I rose to management.

171k base. Target bonus is 50%.

Last two years we beat budget, so it’s been about 55%. Technically it could be as high as 75%, but those jerks like to recast our budget sometimes due to “market conditions” and magically it only seems to happen when we crush Q1.
