They pay less, I know Country Day has some of the lowest paid teachers in the area, but the tuition is $20k a year.
Newman is a little better. Whats odd is Newman gives a 100% teacher discount for their own kids and CD only gives a 80%.

I'm seeing it as an older college student. And I think a significant percentage of regular OT posters are from the same background.

I lived in Covington for a while when I was going to Mandeville. I think my dad just had to fill out some paperwork. Covington High was a bunch of functional retards, and I couldn't go to SPS anymore. Fountainbleau had a bunch of Lacombe kids, so that was out of the question. MHS was my only other option in the area (besides going to school in the dirty dell)

I grew up in a semi-rural area. We didn't have private schools. Nearest private school was over a hour away. Everyone went to the local school. I enjoyed it. I went to school with Rich, Poor, Gifted, Drop outs.
I think not having private schools nearby is what made it great. If we did those students from better homes (better as in parents who demanded good behavior and academic achievement) would have likely gone to the private school and public school would have been left if the riff raff.
