Well it kinda depends on the destination. Vegas for instance is cheap most of the time. I'm headed to Boston for work and paid $500 just now. Correction...work paid $500.

Yea, would love to make it back to Chicago. Been once for a day. Going to try to make it up there over summer anyways for their wedding. Especially if RT is 120+/-

Like everything else in Vegas, flights to Vegas are cheap Monday-Thursday

Been flying to Vegas once a year for the past 10 years. I am going next weekend and I got a round trip flight from Nola to Vegas for $238 with southwest. Leaving Saturday coming back Tuesday. I've never had a flight that cheap in the 10 years I've been going to Vegas. Gas prices? Economy? Idk

Sorry just getting to this. MSY- Manila is averaging $921-$940 up until the end of April and the third week of August onward. In the summer you're going to pay a lot more (on the order of $1200 in May, $1450 in June, $1360 in July, or $1250 in early August). Less than $1000 to fly to Asia is not all that bad, you will likely have to double connect if flying from MSY, with United/ANA through Houston and Tokyo, Delta through Detroit and Tokyo, or American through Dallas and Hong Kong or Tokyo.

The reason southwest is that cheap is because spirit just launched the route. Spirit's roundtrip prices are like $80 or something dirt cheap for MSY-LAS. My guess is Southwest was losing a decent amount of customers for them to lower their prices as now they have to compete on the route
