I like how people are acting like strong drinks matter like there’s a limit you can get or something. It’s a free bar. Just tip a buck and keep getting more drinks.
Was going to say the same thing. If you don't want battered down drinks, stop getting mixed drinks and go w/ rocks or neat. That should be a general rule even if it isn't a free bar; but with a free bar it really shouldn't matter.

I tip 20%-25% at restaurants. I tip for haircuts. I tip valet. I tip the kid cleaning my golf clubs.
I almost never tip at weddings. The people paying for the wedding have already included a tip.
It's a wedding, everyone is getting drinks for free. None of you are getting preferential treatment, or stronger drinks, or the hot bartender's number. Stop lying to yourselves.

If I was the dad and paying for the wedding and booze, some jackwagon bartender better not put up a suggestive tip jar, bucket, or glass. Everyone there is MY guest, not a customer. I'll handle the gratuity-- a tip jar is gauche and reflects badly on ME.
If a guess wants to slip a bartender something, that's between them. But don't go begging/encouraging tips.
